The Game of Life
Today …
I want to talk about life. The game of life. From early on we are taught how to perform in public, whats acceptable and whats not. When we should push boundaries and when we should follow the rules. We are taught to ask permission during the most formative years of our lives. We are taught that we have little control over ourselves. Then we become in adult, and society hands us the keys to our lives and expect us to know how to navigate then ins and outs. In America, we spend 8 hours a day in school as we age. Learning bits of math, science, history, and a few other subjects. But then life happens, sicknesses, old age, job fluctuations, kids, family, etc. The ups and downs of life happen, and that goal either gets reached or you get further away from it. Whichever place you end up on your path doesn't matter. The question remains the same; What next? You reached your goal, so what's next? Do you stay in the same place, or do you stretch yourself thin and push yourself to the next level? Okay, so you didn't reach your goal. Are you going to stay in the place of defeat? Or are you going to figure out WHAT IS POSSIBLE to begin a long journey to your big goal? Shit happens. We were all given various obstacles on our path. We are all going through something. But either you can accept that you're in the game of life and win, and to do that, you'll have to make choices that will stretch you thin. That will test your patience. That will pull and push you till you grow. Or you can complain about it. You can mentally make your situation bigger by focusing on every negative thing right now.
Your options are to keep doing what you're doing, stay in your mindset and physical state, or change directions and try something new. You're always going to be going through something. Either you grow from it, or you let it consume you. Shit happens. That's the game. Can you overcome it? Can you find peace within your storm? Make a decision in your life to do just that!
Tangible Task: Ask yourself this question. Write out both your question and answer.
What battle am I facing right now in life?
Then skip a few lines and make a list (good, bad, funny, it doesn’t matter) of 5 possible solutions to your battle.
This is your starting point. Take the steps to test out one of your possible solutions this week!
